About Us

Seven Corners Children's Center  provides affordable full-time, part-time & after-school care for children ages 2-1/2 - 7 years old of low-to-medium income families living in the Bailey's Crossroads/Culmore/Falls Church area of Fairfax County.

 Mission statement

By providing childcare in a safe, nurturing and educational setting, children are better prepared to enter the public school program.  Nearly 90% of the children enter the Center with little or no English language skills.  When they have completed the program, all children speak fluent English, thus enabling them to enter Kindergarten with the skills to succeed.

We have both Full-fee and Subsidized-fee students.  To be eligible to participate in the Subsidized-fee program, the family must live in Fairfax County and the parents must either be working full-time or attending school.  The children's tuition is based on a sliding scale determined by the Office of Children, Child Care Assistance and Referral program.  Many families would not be able to work if they did not have affordable care for their children.  This subsidized childcare service enables parents to be able to provide food and housing for their families.

History of SCCC

Seven Corners Children's Center originated in 1971 as an outreach program of First Christian Church to serve the families of the community.    After several years it was determined that the area needed a larger program to better serve the needs of the familes living nearby.

In 19xx, we moved to our present location behind the former Willston Elementary School.  With the assistance of Fairfax County, the program currently sits in the most populated low or below proverty area of the county.
